KRISHTI is proud to collaborate with the Queens Public Library through the New Americans Program, creating opportunities to share theatre, culture, and artistic expression with diverse communities.
We recently signed a partnership agreement with Queens Public Library through June this year. Beginning in March 2024, KRISHTI will present a new theatre production every three months at the Central Library under the New Americans Program. These performances aim to celebrate cultural diversity, connect communities through storytelling, and promote the beauty of performing arts in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

The central theme of Pendulum revolves around loneliness. Ratan, a key character in the production, exists alongside loneliness as if they share the same space and identity. They observe each other—Ratan witnessing loneliness, and loneliness silently observing Ratan. Loneliness is not just a feeling in this story; it becomes a character of its own with identity and presence. Gradually, it begins to challenge the very idea of human existence and perception. It transforms the flow of time and deeply affects individuals, questioning reality and emotional balance. Through this intense narrative, Pendulum reflects on how loneliness shapes human experience and alters the way we understand time, self, and existence.

Khyepa Paaglaar Pyanchaal, written by S.M. Solaiman, is one of the most frequently staged plays in Bengali theatre history. It was performed multiple times in Bangladesh during the 1990s with different character interpretations and stage experiences. In 2018, the play was revived in New York under the direction of Shamsul Alam Bokul, with permission from Rokeya Rafique. The setting was reimagined from Bangladesh to New York, creating a fresh adaptation while keeping the core essence intact. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a solo web performance was also created using a home setup as a stage, making it a unique digital theatre experience.
